Details About Activated Carbon

Activated Carbon is a Micro porous material manufactured from carbonaceous raw material i.e. Wood, Coconut Shell, Rice Husk, etc. The activation process develops a my raid of pores of molecular dimensions within the carbon which together constitutes an enormous internal surface area.Activated Carbon The carbon atoms at the internal surface of Activated Carbon exert an attraction on the molecules of the surrounding gases and liquids. The Strength of this force is related to the molecular structure of the surrounding medium. This is the mechanism by which Activated Carbon can be used to remove different components from a mixture. Activated carbons are used as purifying and de-colouring agents in a wide range of process and they absorb between 10% to 90% of their own weight of impurities from aqueous solution. Activated Carbon is added to the process liquor in an agitated vessel and filtered off after the required contact time.

Applications

Activated carbon is the most commonly used adsorption filtration media for both liquids and gases. For gas phase applications large particle sized carbon is used to reduce the pressure drop through the bed. Smaller particles are used in liquid phase applications where the impurities are effectively adsorbed when it travels through the bed of carbon.

Even though we manufacture activated carbon from coconut shell, wood and coal, the selection of carbon for various applications not only depends on the particle size, but also depends on the hardness, filter efficiency of its micro pores and its adsorption capacity.

BCARB PRO GAC/GAC

Blacia BCarb-700 series of Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is manufactured from sustainably sourced Coconut shell charcoal through steam activation. The resulting high-density carbon structure with a developed bimodal meso- and micro-porous structure allows for the adsorption of a range of molecular sizes, making this carbon ideal for a broad range of water treatment applications. Due to this unique structure, this medium grade GAC bridges the gap between conventional coal and coconut carbons and may be used as an effective alternative to either. This product is ideally suited for general water treatment applications.

BCARB PRO PAC/PAC

Blacia BCarb-PAC series of Powder Activated arbon (PAC) is manufactured from sustainably sourced Hard Wood charcoal through steam activation. The resulting high-density carbon structure with a developed bimodal meso- and micro- porous structure allows for the adsorption of a range of molecular sizes, making this carbon ideal for a broad range of applications. Due to this unique structure, this medium grade PAC bridges the gap between conventional coal and coconut carbons and may be used as an effective alternative to either. This product is ideally suited for general applications & high volume users.
